“Nang dahil sa inyo, nagbago ang buhay naming lima.”
Josh, SB19‘s most charismatic member, thanked their fans with teary eyes, making that night truly something for everyone to remember. A’TINs (SB19’s official fandom name) couldn’t stop their tears as they felt how much that night’s concert meant for these five young men who are now going up to reach their dreams.
Thanks to the success of their second digital single “Go Up” (released 07.26.2019), the quintet, along with ShowBT Philippines CEO Robin “Tatang” Jeong. announced ten free concert locations in major cities across the Philippines as a way thank their fans for their unwavering support.
Last December 28, 2019, the second stop of their Get in the Zone: SB19 Concert 2019 Nationwide Tour took place at the Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay City.
A’TINs banded together with their official merchandise in hand to create a goosebump-inducing blue ocean. Common as it may seem in K-POP concerts, seeing it in a P-POP (Pinoy Pop) concert leaves everyone who witnessed this historic moment breathless in awe.
Get in the Zone
The group started the concert by dancing vigorously to their hit single “Go Up”, followed by an introduction. The whole stadium sang along and waved their lightsticks as the five belt out “Hanggang sa Muli” and showed off their charismatic side with “Love Goes”. Both tracks have not been officially released yet.
The five presented how extra talented they were with their solo stages. Justin, the maknae or the youngest of the team, covered a familiar song originally sung by Bugoy Drilon. He also shared that this song was his audition piece and judges stopped him in between because they told him he wasn’t good at singing.
Ken, the sexiest member the group , serenaded fans with his deep, cool voice in his rendition of a song by Daniel Caesar, while Stell, the group’s heavenly voice, walked through the audience with a rose in hand. He selected a lucky A’TIN from the crowd to receive this rose and serenade her with a song from the musical Wizard of Oz. At the end of the song, Stell hugs the lucky A’TIN. Those who witnessed this moment could only say ‘ sana all’ — wishing that they were the ones in this lucky fan’s place instead!
Afterwards, a powerful dance performance by Josh with a track from the movie “The Greatest Showman” amazed the crowd, while the solo stages were brought to an end with Sejun’s unreleased, self-composed track “Kumonoy”. Its lyrics hold a deep meaning, only amplified with the sound of meaningful instrumentals by Sejun himself. The group’s leader could not help but burst into tears as he performed the piece, while A’TINs cheered him on to comfort him.
A’TINs who attended the concert were also given a glimpse of the upcoming Music Video release of their third digital single “Alab” (released 12.25.2019) followed by a live performance of the song.
And as if this wasn’t enough, SB19 set the ‘rainy mood after the burning feelings’ with their performance of their debut single “Tilaluha” (released 10.26.2018) and raised the roof up once more by doing a cover medley featuring K-Pop groups IKON and BIG BANG.
“ Wala kami rito pag wala kayo lahat. Dati nagsusulat ako ng kanta para sa sarili, pero ngayon nagsusulat ako para sa inyo.” – Sejun to A’TINs
The team ended the concert with a short skit and a song from popular Broadway musical “Rent”. Right before the group left the stage, they thanked A’TINs and all of the staff once again for the blessings and achievements they received in the past year.
But SB19 wasn’t finished just yet! Along with Tatang Robin, the members returned to stage to gift a Scholarship Program to their chosen participant. A surprise video message was also flashed on screen, created by the members for their beloved CEO, causing A’TINs to once again tear up as Tatang Robin personally thanked everybody with a shaky voice.
To add, YARA, Hongganda and Bigman BeatBox also graced the concert with special performances.
Alab and an unreleased song entitled “Wag Mong Ikunot ang Iyong Noo” was performed as Encore and Re-Encore.
SB19 is a five-member boy group, and the first Filipino group to be trained under a Korean entertainment company. While they debuted in 2018, the group rose to worldwide fame after their dance practice video of their second digital single “Go Up” went viral on Twitter just last September 2019.
SB19 is the first Filipino group to be able to break into and land a spot on Billboard Next Big Sound and Billboard Social 50 Chart. They also broke the record for staying #1 in MYX Daily Top 10 Charts for 2019, after BTS and Halsey set the bar in early 2019 with their hit collaboration.
